Hey so uh, I was thinking... since it's cold and snowing and all, we should have some kinda winter festival. Well, maybe not a festival necessarily but like at least some kind of fun? We've been gone for so long and after that terrible thing happened I think everyone could do with some cheering up.

Is there anyone who has ideas on how to set up a skating rink? There's no pond or lake here but there's a good space in the middle of town to put down some water and freeze it, I think.

So apparently just over a year has passed here while it was just a 'day' to us. A bunch of people from town are gone. They were forced to fight and kill each other because of Lardface's sick idea of a 'present' for his new son.

I have an important task that needs attending. There is a young woman in town right now. A girl. Some thing was put around her head that blinds her vision. And it's not the most unpleasant thing it does, either. She's starting to look very sick.

Is everyone all right? If you can help it, Do not go outside. I repeat, do not risk leaving a safe location if it can be helped.

In the castle- if the basement is compromised, stay in the rooms that give off the slightly warm feeling when you cross the doorway. Those areas should be safe.

There may be a room on the main floors that has this, as well as food.

[Maybe she should try drawing a map...no, not now. Hopefully people aren't inside the place, and no one has decided to have an adventure in the maze tonight.]

In the meantime-we could try to entertain each other while we wait, if you want?

Maybe do a name game, tic tac toe, something more complicated to make the time pass faster.

hey, i'm sora! so i'm not sure which sleeping world this is, but i'm kind of looking for someone. there's no dream eaters here either, so it's a little weird to figure out where to go. plus, what's with these notebooks?

That wasn’t too bad. Not the worse thing to have happened to me. But I feel weird.

Also, I did not get a cool scar for it. In cartoons when something like that happens, the hero comes back with a powerup and a BIG scar.

In case it's not obvious, if you're in the castle or town, get somewhere safe immediately. Inside houses in town seems to be safe for the moment. If that's not an option, get to the garden, the guards and gargoyles can't enter it.

Very long story short, the dragon that you might've seen flying the walls was a princess and had been captured by the Lord and he's rather pissed that she's free now. The guards are probably not anyone's friends anymore.

Might be a good idea to sound off here where you are and who's with you, so we have an idea of who might be missing. I know two kids (one of them with wings), that guy from the basement cells, and our serpent companion are safe in the usual place.

Rose was taken to the castle.

I'm not sure what happened last night, but it seems like a lot of people aren't feeling good about it. And I've been kind of out of the loop with things lately, so I was trying to think of a way that might help cheer everyone up as well as maybe get together with people again.

It's getting colder, so it made me think of something. Back home, around the end of the year in the colder months (at least it's cold then in the part of the world I'm from), there's a holiday called Christmas. It's basically a time that everyone gets together with family and friends and exchanges presents with them.

Maybe we could do that here? Have it on the next Day, so people can get ready for it and the like. Everyone could come to the town for it, if the townsfolk don't mind. It could be like a festival.

Couple things -

First, it's become apparent that at least a few people have had need of... discreet healing and medical exams recently. If that applies to you, you can seek me out, I won't break your confidentiality.

I might charge you a strong drink for it, though.

Second, if anyone has an encounter with the shape-changing flowers that were in the garden a few nights back, or still has changes that they're looking to reverse, I've gotten my hands on the recipe for a potion used as an antidote. The Apothecary may also be able to provide such; the things are apparently a common menace in certain parts of this world. If you get stuck in a form that leaves you unable to communicate normally, put a paw/foot/whatever on my right foot and I'll get it together for you.

Third, I'll be in the gardens for a good portion of the afternoon if you want to exchange information and updates.

Also, the tomatoes planted in the gardens are mine, I'm not against sharing but I want at least some of the first harvest when it happens. If you have a recipe to request, I can probably figure it out.

So like Spinel said the headless guy didn't write chores again today. That was me. It would be nice if everyone got together and helped clean the place because it's getting dirty really quickly.

I'll see if writing up paperwork like Spinel suggested gets everyone paid. But if not, I found some coins in his room and outside the castle that I can give out to people who help. I only have enough to give one to each person though. Maybe two.

If you do want to help, leave your name or initials or some kind of mark here and tell me what you did. I'm going to check later.

(OOC: Yes, he WILL check on people doing chores. We can thread that out or handwave him passing by. Please leave some indication below of your character helping with chores even if it's just a brief comment with name and dorm etc.)

Is anyone else concerned about the maids and guards getting stuck on loop? I've been watching since they started doing it last Day and it only seems to be getting worse.

And with no chores assigned for the Day again... (Credit for trying, Tricks, but that doesn't really count. Also, you forgot laundry buckets.)

It's really giving me the shivers. The Qliphoth didn't give me this many shivers.

On that note, I'm starting to get concerned about our funds as a whole - we have the gardens for food right now and they seem to be resisting the cold, but that's not all we need to survive. With no chores, there's no money flow. I know a couple people have gotten work at the shops, but is that really enough to sustain everyone? And those who don't have any fallbacks like that... Well, I'd hate to start charging for lessons.

Also, did anyone other than Marian and I investigate the tailor's last night?
