Day 21
So... what the heck is this thing anyway? It doesn't seem like a normal book... seeing as I can see everyone else's past entries in here or something.
Whatever.
Look. I need answers and I need them now. What's this I saw about servants, guards and a Lord?? The sooner I can get out of here, the better. I have a little sister to get back to.

Re: book --> action
Eventually, Koujirou would lead him outside and to the town, to a small cottage that seemed perfectly normal and lived in. He chirped a few times before lighting down on Killuas shoulder, then flying into a window on the second floor.]
action
Blinking when he reached the cottage, it was hard to miss the distinctive way the little flaming bird had touched his shoulder before flying up into that window. It was very telling as that must be where the other was, nodding and about to head in before he realized if anyone lived there in the rest of this cottage that he couldn't even say 'i'm here to see the person who sent their little bird to bring me over to see them' since that'd just be so awkward.
So. Plan B.
Centering the nen in his feet, he braced himself and pushed off from the ground in a jump that took him to the window on the second floor that the bird had flown into. Using his momentum, he managed to bypass the bed near the window and landed on the floor with very relative ease in a matter of seconds. ]
Hey. Sorry if it took me a bit to get here. Had to fix this stupid uniform a little.
no subject
He tried to move and all he got from the was stinging pain from the wounds on his back causing himself to partly curl up on the bed. However all it took was Koujirou again lighting himself on Killua's shoulder for Yamamoto to calm down and realize that yes, this was the kid he'd spoken with before.
He hadn't actually been expecting someone his own age. Or for him to jump in the window.]
Ah. Sorry. I wasn't expecting-that. Jirou, it's okay.
[The last remark was to his dog which had stopped barking but was still staring suspiciously at Killua. When his master said it was okay, the Akita Inu began to sniff around Killua's feet to see if he really WAS okay.]
I mean, I guess that's one way to get in here, haha.
-> drops in
She comes bursting in with a spear in her hand, and murder in her leonine eyes.
Which only lessened a little when she noticed Yama was still in bed (good), and a stranger by the window. Which had her level her spear in Killua's direction.]
Don't you know how to knock on the door? This is unbelievably rude.
no subject
Maybe he had gotten too used to people being able to use nen, sense presences and move quickly that it really hadn't crossed his mind that other people didn't and would be surprised to see someone doing something like this. Then again he was unorthodox and didn't do things like normal people would. Not that it stopped him from cringing just ever-so-slightly from the surprised yell he earned, along with the fact there was a dog barking at him now too.
Killua then made to turn toward the other teen, catching the flash of blue on his shoulder briefly before fully catching sight of all those bandages covering the other boy in the room with him. His blue eyes went wide and already pale skin seemed to briefly lose it's color even further, but it wasn't so much out of empathy, as it was too familiar a sight to him for just a moment. What he saw - albeit briefly - wasn't a stranger but his best friend covered in bandages and lying in a hospital bed, barely alive.
He knew better that Gon was okay since his sister fixed him but the memory still was fresh. It was enough to briefly distract him before he put back on his otherwise calm demeanor and shook his head. ]
...Didn't think i'd really startle you THAT much but maybe that's just me. Figured it was the best way to get in without bothering anyone else.
[ Blinking a bit, Killua looked down to the dog sniffing at his feet before holding a hand out so the dog could check it out when he was ready. He didn't really intend to go anywhere anyway, seeing as he was kind of a bit wet from having been running outside in the rain to get here.
That's about the time he heard a child in the near distance yelling about an invasion and followed very closely by none other than a woman with some non-human traits leveling a damn SPEAR at him. ]
I wasn't trying to cause a scene. I came to see this guy here and didn't wanna bother anyone else.
[ Killua pointed toward Yamamoto then crossed his arms over his chest, fighting back his natural instincts which would have been to go into a more defensive position. Only if the woman made to actually attack him then he'd change but for now, didn't move and remained where he was with a small puddle of water gathering at his feet. ]
I'm not a threat to any of you. You'd already know if I was one by now.
no subject
His heart sank a little bit. Of course they would notice and probably not leave him alone either. Yamamoto was correct when Rei herself burst into the room, wielding a spear and causing Jirou to start growling and barking at her.]
Hey, wait!
[He wasn't exactly thinking straight, or ahead in his actions and just got up from his bed to try and latch onto Killua, to stop him from being attacked. His head had been feeling like it had been stuffed with cotton and because of this bad decision, he felt a lancing pain in his back and then the world sort of blurred around him.
Jirou and Koujirou disappeared in that instant as Yamamoto toppled over onto Killua, now bleeding fairly heavily from the wounds on his back.
no subject
[Rei would have gone on, but there was Yama to consider. His lunging over to try and help Killua...her breath went sharp with dismay. The spear dropped with a clatter as she moved forward. She hadn't given Jirou the time of day, more focused on Killua. (Poor Dog). ]
Pair of idiots, the both of you. You know you shouldn't be moving, Yamamoto.
[She huffed loudly, turning her gaze to Killua.]
Let's get him back onto the bed. Then we'll talk about you knocking on the front door in the future, hm?
no subject
[ Totally not mentioning that she's right about the water part but hey. Certain things were important. Such as the fact that Yamamoto had not only tried to move when he shouldn't have, but had toppled over onto him. He sighed and shifted a bit so he could get a good hold on the other teen, the weight not really bothering him in the slightest.
Not like how he wanted to snap back that he wasn't an idiot but instead just let it slide for now. ]
...Fine. Only because I really don't want someone dying so soon after I got here and because of me, especially.
[ There's a huff he exhaled, already moving on his own to try and set the taller boy back down on the bed so he'd be lying on his stomach. He was already impossibly stubborn as it was so of course he was just trying to help Yamamoto out, even without someone helping him with it. ]
>proceeds to give everyone a heart attack
Of course, everything had promptly gone to hell two seconds later. Yamamoto ripped his back open yet again, there was blood everywhere, and all in all, it was a giant mess. He put the book he'd been reading to one side and shed the illusion over him with a flick of his fingers, appearing as if from thin air.
He had an inkling that the new kid had known something was there, but he didn't bother asking how. He had work to do, and only waited long enough for Rei and the kid to ease Yamamoto back down on to his bed before he stepped forward. ]
Move, both of you. [ Hibari didn't appreciate Yamamoto ruining his hard work, but he also didn't want him to die again. ]
you can probably skip me after this
Don't. Kill him. Don't kill him.
[There were voices, maybe, and other stuff happening around him along with the searing pain on his back but he just kept muttering those words until he was no longer conscious.]
no subject
[Ugh. It's times like this she wishes she could drink, and she's not a heavy drinker. Must have been because she couldn't, and the stress. With a shake of her head, she helped Killua move Yamamoto back onto the bed proper, not wanting the wounds on his back to open up more.
Though Hibari appearing out of nowhere made Rei jump. She wasn't startled easily these days, thanks to her empathic senses, but...illusions were enough to fool her sometimes.
With a small sigh, she touched Killua's shoulder briefly.]
Please step back. He's going to help.
[She didn't know how, exactly, but Hibari wasn't the type to step up if he wasn't capable of something. Even if it meant taking him to someone who could assist.]
He's one of ours. We'll take care of him.
But you can tell us who you are in the meantime, so we can assure him that I didn't kill you.
no subject
Said guy who he assumed was meaning to help so it wasn't as if he had any real complaints about it, blinking a bit when he heard Yamamoto's words. Killua had just only really met Yamamoto but yet the injured teen was telling them not to kill him despite being in such an awful state. It'd distracted him long enough, the hand on his shoulder making him blink a bit before nodding and moving aside so the older man could get to work. ]
I don't know how much of a comfort it will be, since we didn't quite get to exchanging names.
[ A sigh. God. Why did this guy weirdly remind him of Gon in this moment? The similarities both amused and frustrated him because it reminded him of the separation him and said friend had agreed upon, not that long ago. Though giving a name to this woman here wouldn't hurt and he didn't feel like being more stubborn about all of this mess. ]
You can call me Killua. Doubt last names matter so I don't see the need in giving it unless you absolutely want it.
no subject
Not for the first time, she wished she could heal. She ignored Yama's dazed mumbles and Hibari's work for now, concentrating on the intruder instead.]
He wouldn't have given you his real name in the journals anyway. That would have been more stupid then average-though he's not doing too well for staying above that lately.
[She says that, but she's concerned and worried from the look on her face and her body language. More like an older sister or a mother then anything.]
I don't need nor want your last name. There's some dangers in that. But in any case-I'm Rei. I'm also called Marian.
[She nods to Hibari.]
People in town call him Yun, and his patient is Shigure. We thought we were protecting ourselves with aliases.
[Hopefully that will draw Killua away from the worry and concern Killua has. Some of those feelings are...strangely intense.
She needs to work on her empathic shielding again. Sigh.]
no subject
I wasn't aware names held such a level of importance here... if you see fit to protect yourselves with aliases and all.
[ A beat follows that and he exhales a sigh. This was such a pain. ]
So do you think i'll need to come up with an alias as well?
no subject
The idea of him getting changed because of it worries her to the core.]
We got word that the lord can take names, so we decided that was the smartest thing to do.
[But at that, she shakes her head.]
No. A friend informed me that it causes more problems then solves them. Just be careful who you tell your full name to.
The less you borrow worry, the better.
[In that case it's more do what I say, not what I do because...Rei can be a worry wort given the chance.]
no subject
Someone who can take names, huh? Tch. That sounds like a pain in the ass.
[ It really was. Though the idea of being careful in telling people his full name was actually a good one. People were prone to stab you in the back if you weren't watching yourself. ]
Got it. Though I do want to know more about this place. I know nothing about it except from what you've told me right now.
no subject
Language, Killua. I don't want to hear that repeated in the next few days.
[Toddlers are toddlers. But...well, she's trying to help him out at least.]
That's how we all arrive here-we don't know anything, wearing the uniform of the servants. This cottage didn't exist when we arrived here either.
[She sighed, and:]
But I can try to fill you in on some of the standard warnings. I've been here for a bit.
no subject
...Sorry.
[ That was about as much as he could offer up at the moment. She does at least have his attention, eyes never leaving her even once. ]
I see. [ A nod of his head. ] Yeah, that would be appreciated. The more I know now, the better.
no subject
The first thing that I need to impress on you, [Other then she was fussy,] is that this isn't your world. This isn't mine either. This is a completely new world, with its own rules.
We don't know a lot of them, and what we've learned is by trial and error. Do you understand what I'm trying to say?
no subject
Moving to sit down on the floor with her, it took minimal movement to get comfortable so he was able to fix his attention onto what she was telling him. ]
I figured that much. It looks nothing at all like my own, but it was the uniform that kinda tipped me off to that first. Same with the castle and the way it was set up.
[ Not spoken too rudely or anything; more like an affirmation in his own way. He's always been kinda blunt anyway so it wasn't anything against her by any means. ]
Yeah. I can't do things normally as I might have back home or there's liable to be some consequences for it due to one of the rules I don't know about.
[ He raised a hand to pluck at the front of the uniform top he was wearing, while making a bit of a displeased look. ]
I was told there would be some who would attack me if i was seen without this uniform, so that's probably one of those rules, right?
no subject
Good, you picked that up. It's likely that you'll still run into some assumptions that you're used to because-we're used to the world working in a certain way.
The guards are a good example.
[She sighed quietly.]
They're the ones that would find you with suspicion and most likely attack you on sight at the castle. Which is important, since the castle is the main source of income.
The guards have conscious will, but not free will. They used to be normal people, but they made a deal, and that...changed them. If they're given an order by the Lord or Lady, they have to obey.
