Day 21
So... what the heck is this thing anyway? It doesn't seem like a normal book... seeing as I can see everyone else's past entries in here or something.
Whatever.
Look. I need answers and I need them now. What's this I saw about servants, guards and a Lord?? The sooner I can get out of here, the better. I have a little sister to get back to.

[Ugh. It's times like this she wishes she could drink, and she's not a heavy drinker. Must have been because she couldn't, and the stress. With a shake of her head, she helped Killua move Yamamoto back onto the bed proper, not wanting the wounds on his back to open up more.
Though Hibari appearing out of nowhere made Rei jump. She wasn't startled easily these days, thanks to her empathic senses, but...illusions were enough to fool her sometimes.
With a small sigh, she touched Killua's shoulder briefly.]
Please step back. He's going to help.
[She didn't know how, exactly, but Hibari wasn't the type to step up if he wasn't capable of something. Even if it meant taking him to someone who could assist.]
He's one of ours. We'll take care of him.
But you can tell us who you are in the meantime, so we can assure him that I didn't kill you.

Said guy who he assumed was meaning to help so it wasn't as if he had any real complaints about it, blinking a bit when he heard Yamamoto's words. Killua had just only really met Yamamoto but yet the injured teen was telling them not to kill him despite being in such an awful state. It'd distracted him long enough, the hand on his shoulder making him blink a bit before nodding and moving aside so the older man could get to work. ]
I don't know how much of a comfort it will be, since we didn't quite get to exchanging names.
[ A sigh. God. Why did this guy weirdly remind him of Gon in this moment? The similarities both amused and frustrated him because it reminded him of the separation him and said friend had agreed upon, not that long ago. Though giving a name to this woman here wouldn't hurt and he didn't feel like being more stubborn about all of this mess. ]
You can call me Killua. Doubt last names matter so I don't see the need in giving it unless you absolutely want it.

Not for the first time, she wished she could heal. She ignored Yama's dazed mumbles and Hibari's work for now, concentrating on the intruder instead.]
He wouldn't have given you his real name in the journals anyway. That would have been more stupid then average-though he's not doing too well for staying above that lately.
[She says that, but she's concerned and worried from the look on her face and her body language. More like an older sister or a mother then anything.]
I don't need nor want your last name. There's some dangers in that. But in any case-I'm Rei. I'm also called Marian.
[She nods to Hibari.]
People in town call him Yun, and his patient is Shigure. We thought we were protecting ourselves with aliases.
[Hopefully that will draw Killua away from the worry and concern Killua has. Some of those feelings are...strangely intense.
She needs to work on her empathic shielding again. Sigh.]
no subject
I wasn't aware names held such a level of importance here... if you see fit to protect yourselves with aliases and all.
[ A beat follows that and he exhales a sigh. This was such a pain. ]
So do you think i'll need to come up with an alias as well?
no subject
The idea of him getting changed because of it worries her to the core.]
We got word that the lord can take names, so we decided that was the smartest thing to do.
[But at that, she shakes her head.]
No. A friend informed me that it causes more problems then solves them. Just be careful who you tell your full name to.
The less you borrow worry, the better.
[In that case it's more do what I say, not what I do because...Rei can be a worry wort given the chance.]
no subject
Someone who can take names, huh? Tch. That sounds like a pain in the ass.
[ It really was. Though the idea of being careful in telling people his full name was actually a good one. People were prone to stab you in the back if you weren't watching yourself. ]
Got it. Though I do want to know more about this place. I know nothing about it except from what you've told me right now.
no subject
Language, Killua. I don't want to hear that repeated in the next few days.
[Toddlers are toddlers. But...well, she's trying to help him out at least.]
That's how we all arrive here-we don't know anything, wearing the uniform of the servants. This cottage didn't exist when we arrived here either.
[She sighed, and:]
But I can try to fill you in on some of the standard warnings. I've been here for a bit.
no subject
...Sorry.
[ That was about as much as he could offer up at the moment. She does at least have his attention, eyes never leaving her even once. ]
I see. [ A nod of his head. ] Yeah, that would be appreciated. The more I know now, the better.
no subject
The first thing that I need to impress on you, [Other then she was fussy,] is that this isn't your world. This isn't mine either. This is a completely new world, with its own rules.
We don't know a lot of them, and what we've learned is by trial and error. Do you understand what I'm trying to say?
no subject
Moving to sit down on the floor with her, it took minimal movement to get comfortable so he was able to fix his attention onto what she was telling him. ]
I figured that much. It looks nothing at all like my own, but it was the uniform that kinda tipped me off to that first. Same with the castle and the way it was set up.
[ Not spoken too rudely or anything; more like an affirmation in his own way. He's always been kinda blunt anyway so it wasn't anything against her by any means. ]
Yeah. I can't do things normally as I might have back home or there's liable to be some consequences for it due to one of the rules I don't know about.
[ He raised a hand to pluck at the front of the uniform top he was wearing, while making a bit of a displeased look. ]
I was told there would be some who would attack me if i was seen without this uniform, so that's probably one of those rules, right?
no subject
Good, you picked that up. It's likely that you'll still run into some assumptions that you're used to because-we're used to the world working in a certain way.
The guards are a good example.
[She sighed quietly.]
They're the ones that would find you with suspicion and most likely attack you on sight at the castle. Which is important, since the castle is the main source of income.
The guards have conscious will, but not free will. They used to be normal people, but they made a deal, and that...changed them. If they're given an order by the Lord or Lady, they have to obey.
