Two things -

First, to those of you I've been teaching, a warning: This kind of weather usually leads to thunderstorms over the night, at least where I come from. Do not use the Third Fonon (wind) during any kind of electrical storm. It GREATLY increases your chance of getting struck by lightning.

In unrelated news, if anyone has an interest, I've got a bunch of peppers here that haven't been tasted for spicyness. If anyone wants to volunteer, you can pick your poison over by the garden door.

"Eldrant took a bunch of people's braincells with it," he mutters under his breath, shaking his head to clear it. He's fine, damnit. He's also fairly sure what he said was true, because the idea of throwing Eldrant at an Albiore still seems really stupid to him.

Though what Asch said makes him wonder, opening his eyes. "You make it sound like he's acting like how I do." Anyone else he wouldn't have mentioned it at all, but right now he's just accepting enough of Asch to bring it up.

"...He kind of is, except sad instead of being an ass." Sorry, Sync, just calling it like it is. Most of your personality is 'jerk' for various reasons, a trait that Luke has thankfully lost.

Sync being Sync, doesn't even react to the name calling. It's not the first time, it's unlikely to be the last. It's just how they work.

"Hmn. He knows the thing about suicide, right?" Probably by this point, but if Luke's acting that way...it wouldn't be the first time the other replica has had a downturn, given the number Akzeriuth seemed to do to him.

"He knows. I told him." Asch doesn't sound happy at the thought, but... He won't deny that Sync has a really good point in bringing it up.

Good. Now all they could do was make sure Luke didn't decide it was worth risking anyway. "Never thought I'd find myself worrying about him of all people," he mutters, shifting to sit down on the ground, one leg drawn up to his chest and resting his head on his knee.

Okay what, that gets you glared at, Asch. "What are you on about? I don't need you keeping an eye on me." It's quite possibly the last thing he wants, in all honesty.

Still glaring. "That doesn't mean I need your help with it." The only thing he's showing right now is anger, though given the topic there's obviously a sore point somewhere that Asch has hit.

"Whether you need it or not, you're going to get it," he says, before reaching into the basket for a pepper and lightly tossing it at Sync. "Even if I know you won't pay it back. It's worth it to me."

He catches it with ease, frowning. "You're wasting your time then," he comments after a moment, getting back to his feet. This conversation is taking a turn into weird and Sync's not sure that he wants right now. He turns, whistling softly to wake Rain up; she jerks awake and stretches before moving to leap off the bench. "I'm not worth it, and we both know that." He turns as he speaks, walking away. He definitely doesn't want this right now.

"I'll make my decisions about what I think you're worth for myself," Asch says to his back. "Even I can change my mind when I'm given a new perspective."

And he'll leave it at that, for Sync to figure out what he means or not, and instead stare into the basket of peppers. After a long moment, he sighs and closes his eyes, slumping into his seat. It's not until Sync is gone that he speaks again.

"Now to put my money where my mouth is, I guess."
