Two things -

First, to those of you I've been teaching, a warning: This kind of weather usually leads to thunderstorms over the night, at least where I come from. Do not use the Third Fonon (wind) during any kind of electrical storm. It GREATLY increases your chance of getting struck by lightning.

In unrelated news, if anyone has an interest, I've got a bunch of peppers here that haven't been tasted for spicyness. If anyone wants to volunteer, you can pick your poison over by the garden door.

Tomatoes? That's highly unusual. But I suppose it makes sense with the weather.

Then again, I was surprised with the rice.

They're pretty close to a staple where I come from. It's been a bit frustrating.

I tried to save them, but I'm not exactly a gardener by trade.

[He's a little disappointed, too. He wanted them for cooking. But hey, at least he rescued the peppers.

Don't forget to save some of those peppers for us.

Don't worry, there's plenty. Some on the plants that will ripen by the end of the day, too. By the time we dry them all we might even be able to sell some back to the market.

Good idea. We should save the seeds we can for replanting next season, too.

Already thought of that. There's some strung up in the sunny window to dry.

I'll check on their progress and label which peppers the seeds come from when I put them away.

[Probably by drawing a little picture of said pepper on whatever he puts them in. Maybe he can make little paper envelopes from the wrapping from the stores... They could be sealed with wax, right?]

When you see this, can you come out to the gardens? Usual fountain. I've got something I need to ask you about.

I can understand that. But I'm sure we can find ways to adapt, even if it's not exactly what we know and enjoy.

[There's a pause and:]

How's the rest of the garden coming along? Would you do better with some assistance?

It seems to mostly take care of itself, really. There's plenty of vegetables, I can bring you pretty much whatever you want.

I won't question it too much. But thank you; if you can't find me, then there's W, M, or H.

H especially. He had a pot commissioned, and he knows how to cook, unlike me.

Or I'll just leave them on your trunk. That's what I've done for some other people.

Come to think, I haven't seen much of you lately, aside from when you visited while Ruby was here. We should get together at some point and trade notes.

That too. It's not as if anyone would steal them, I don't think.

I've been trying to keep out of sight. But I wouldn't say no to comparing notes.

Aside from my chores, I'm mostly hanging out in the gardens today. Soaking up the sun and heat while I can.
