Dying is not the worst thing that could happen, although it can certainly lead to worse.

I heard that once. I'm not sure I want to know what's worse in a place like this.

Die too many times and you start coming back wrong. The guards were lucky, or perhaps just too bound by duty to turn completely monstrous.

Huh...maybe coming back as guards was because of their personality. Maybe that changes what you would come back as.

I hope too many times doesn't include last time. I don't think I remember how many times I died. [Time to go over what he does remember]

Significant deaths? Like... [It takes him a second because he doesn't even want to think about it, but he still should know. It could be important...somehow] Like if someone...killed themselves or...wanted to die?

The guards are complicated. I doubt most would fall under the rules that govern them, as all others I have seen merely...degraded.

As for 'before', I would think it better to err on the side of caution.

Of what I have seen? Suicide, "wanting to die", or a particularly meaningful and dramatic murder or execution.

I was in this castle before it came to be here, and have remained in this castle; to the best of my knowledge, there was nothing else here when we arrived. I take it that you are another who was present for all of the explosions and upheaval?

[That's new] Wow entire places can get pulled here, not just people? That's kind of scary.

Last time I was here there was like, four or five distinct 'houses' that were all connected together. There wasn't anything like this, or even people like the guards who protected people who couldn't fight. It's almost more...normal. Safer. It's weird. Me and my family got sent home for like, five days, then brought back to this castle. I think they're the same world, but it's so...strange.

Likely the same place, we have had occasional strays describe such an arrangement, although being sent home is unusual.

The guards are good men, even if they cannot choose but to obey orders that are given to them. There are few such here - and if the Lord or Lady were to give them an order...

It was kinda weird, it was like, totally out of nowhere, suddenly we were home. I wish I knew why, there was a friend I wanted to help in the House and now I don't know what happened to him...ah, but I shouldn't worry people about that. That's my problem, sorry! [He hates putting his problem on other people]

That's good to know, though. Being able to trust someone, even if they have to follow orders, is good. Are the Lord and Lady good...or well, okay people? [Sometimes a not good person could be okay so long as you didn't push their buttons, so maybe...]

It may prove to be of concern to others as well, but these books are hardly secure - and there is more than just yourselves that may be able to read them.

The Lady cares only for her own youth and beauty. The children of this place were taken, sent to her and never seen again.

The Lord sees all as his property, to use and abuse as he wills.

They are the authors of an incredible amount of suffering, although if I were you, I would cite this as little more than the rambling of a bitter fool whose thoughts on the matter are well known; they do not take kindly to insult of any sort, even an honest one.

Try not to give them reason for punishment. There is no good side, and they will take whatever they can from you at the slightest opportunity.

Agito's got a temper, so I'll try to keep him out of trouble. If I can, anyway. But we've had some bad things happen happen to us before, so hopefully I can at least remind him of that.

As long as they think you may be of use, there will be some mileage from them not wanting to lose a potential "possession" by destroying it, but it is a very flimsy protection.

Be careful who you accept 'gifts' from, should you draw attention.
