[Claire isn't stupid. She knows these notebooks are being watched, every entry likely being watched. She also don't really care at the moment. She has a question and figures whoever is in charge - if anyone is in charge - already knows the answer so it can't hurt to put it out there.

She really hopes she's right about that as she begins to write.]

So, call me curious. Who has been here before and who is new?

I have been in this sort of place before, but not this place in particular. The last one was more modern, at least in architecture.

[Architecture. Yeah, that doesn't tell her much. Although technically, she supposed the House as it was before would have appeared more modern... in an abandoned, decrepit, condemned sort of way.]

Did it have a bunch of creepy haunted houses and all sorts of not-so-fun things that happened, especially after it eventually became dark outside?

Been 'here' before, assuming here is still some form of the House.

Popular consensus seems to be that it's the same reality, at the very least. Either a new place in it or, more likely, just some kind of 'upgrade' from the last time.

If this is an extension of the house, then yes. I've been here. I haven't seen this particular one.

Well, we have beds to sleep in and (ugly) clothes to wear, plus regular food even if it's pretty awful. So far, I'd consider that better than the last time.

We had that, last time. We just had to be prepared and the clothing could be found. And they weren't uniforms.

No, some people had that last time. Others, especially people who weren't there from early on, weren't as lucky.

Oh? So you weren't able to find anything in the kitchens, ever?

No, I was. Sometimes. When I was able to actually find the kitchens.

I'd ask how you didn't find them or the bar but...well. Hopping one place to the other happened sometimes.

It probably didn't help that the Phantasms took an interest in me, either. A big one. And look, I'm not saying this place is great. It isn't. But I do think, in some ways, it's better than the last place and, in some ways, it's worse.

I wasn't aware you'd known their company-my apologies. I don't know how to feel about this place yet.

Other then be annoyed at the bathroom situation, but it's one thing of many.

It's fine. At first they were pretty awful but, there toward the end, they weren't so bad. Better than a lot of other things that were skulking about at any rate.

But at lest there's the soilder's barracks. But it means we have to haul buckets there and have some one boil the water.

Exactly. Glad to know it's not just me who can feel the same sort of vibe that was coming from the House.
