[ooc: the first sentence (which translates to: "I'm just curious if anyone can read this; if you can, please respond and tell me what language it appears to be to you.") will be viewable in whatever language your character normally reads/speaks/writes. the second sentence, however, will appear in hindi so, unless your character canonically reads that language, it will look exactly as it's written. (and in case your character does read hindi and you don't, it translates to: "Also, tell me if you can read this, too.")

Walter's reply came late in the day, after he had done all his work and gotten something to eat. As was quickly becoming a habit, he wrote while seated on his assigned bed in dorm 19, pencil spreading graphite trails in cursive that would register as elegant for his age to a modern audience, however common it was in his own time.



The first language appears to me as English, though you've already stated they are both in Hindi. Are we trying this out with different languages and different notebooks to make sure it isn't an isolated event?

I don't think it's isolated since someone else was able to reply with a message in another language, too, but it's a good idea to test the theory either way. Unfortunately, English and Hindi are the only two languages I'm fluent enough to try myself.
