Upon arriving at the castle, Richter checks his journal again, and reads the response before tucking it back under his belt. Dorm 18, not far from his old dorm, but certainly not close either. He can sense a dark presence nearby, but first... First he has to ensure the safety of the one in danger.
Heading straight downstairs and to dorm 18, Richter crouches near the bed, his heavily mended and patched servant grays dark under the light. "Hello? You're safe, if you wish to speak with me." He gets on his hands and knees to peer under the bed, long brown hair tumbling to the floor, but it's dark down here and he can't see much.
That makes sense. Richter instead beckons, mouthing as clearly as he can, so his lips can be read. It's safe. The dark presence has settled elsewhere. It's still there, but it's not nearby.
Meanwhile, a large white cat appears in the door, ears perked up. It's been a while since Sara saw Richter in the castle, but as she has the soul of a vampiric peer to Dracula, she can smell his blood from a mile away, practically. Calmly she approaches, before resting a paw on his shoulder and peering under the bed herself at the scared little boy.
Luce carefully scooted out from underneath the bed to Richter. "He looked normal then went looking scary." the boy whimpered, for once not getting distracted by sudden animal.
With Luce in the relative light, Richter smiles slightly, drops Sara in the child's lap, and rips a page from the back of his journal and writes on it.
Do you know his name? What did he look like before and after?
The "poor" cat gives his face a gentle brush with her muzzle, a kitty kiss, before turning to Richter and speaking. "You will be all right?" Not that Luce can hear her.
"I will be fine," is his response before he straightens up and heads out the door, leaving Luce alone with Sara.
[ Hope nods, and then takes a deep breath. Her eyes go dull and distant, like she's not focusing on anything he can see. However, she sighs after a moment. ]
...It's all gibberish, I'm sorry. I could maybe try again in a bit?
[Richter has been stalking through the halls when he hears familiar voices. He can't make out what they're saying just yet, but they seem to be coming from the same source as the dark energies.
And then he finds them. They're behind a door, so being an actions kind of guy, he kicks it in (it wasn't locked...), surveys the room, and glares at the two of them, drawing his whip.]
He found me afterward. I... I have a power, where I can sort of... It's like peeking at what's written about events that actually happen. I can Read this world's Script at times. So I tried that and... Couldn't get anything. That's all.
[ She really doesn't want to end up hurt because of a misunderstanding. ]
[He lifts the whip with his other hand and... coils it to hang it once more at his belt.]
I believe I owe you an apology, Hope. Too often have I seen innocents taken and corrupted by vampires in my homeland, I simply assumed it would be the same here. It seems I was wrong. What manner of spell could do this, though?
[ --Hope isn't even sure what just happened. One moment, everything was fine. The next, there's a few gooey, fleshy bits on her and the other two aren't there. She, without thinking, had pulled up a bit of Script, but she can't parse it at the moment.
After a moment, when the event registers, Hope screams. ]
Lind is on the move before she realises she recognises the voice, pupils changing as her AT activate, meaning she's at the door near-immediately after the scream. Pulling it open, she nearly recoils, the Braincharger taking notice of everything. This is...rather gross. But she's made of tougher stuff, looking around for the reason for the scream]
Hope? [No AT, not in this mess, locking the wheels and walking over to the girl and crouching in front of her, checking quickly for any injuries] Are you hurt?
[Hurt first, what happened later. Prioritise in the event it becomes overwhelming for the girl]

Which dormitory are you in? Go under your bed and stay quiet if you can't defend yourself. I'll be there shortly.
[Giving Kora a kiss, he sets off at a run for the castle!]

He may have seen some scary things here, but something suddenly changing like that scared him the most.
[Meanwhile]
[Terra gestures at his face, his black-on-black eyes.]

Thanks anyway, Hope. I don't suppose you have any idea what could cause this?

[ ...Well. Sort of. ]
Sorry for the teal deer

I might have known.

Albastru, what's going on?
[He hasn't thought to check the journal.]

Alabastru...?

[Direct and to the point, his eyes are icy.]

[Terra isn't certain of much, but he's certain of that.]
It just - happened.

I tried to cast a spell, and it went wrong, and - Hope wasn't even here!

I don't know - It was supposed to be a spell that removes poison, ailments, things like that. Nothing that could do this.

[Richter frowns, taking in the sight.]
You have control of yourself, though. That's good. Come here.

[That's...not something Terra wants to hear.
He approaches Richter somewhat nervously.]

[As Terra approaches, Richter draws a knife.]
This may sting, but I've heard rumors and need to check something. May I have your hand?
[If Terra gives him his hand, then, as gently as possible when you're trying to cut someone, Richter will prick the pad of his thumb and squeeze it.]

[As Terra puts his hand in Richter's, something inside him twists --
And he knows no more.
All that remains after the explosion is a small red dragonling, squalling piteously in the mess.]
no subject
All that remains is the gore of a two-man explosion and a mess of sparkles, both dark and light, which fade quickly. And of course Terra's dragon.]

[ She sure is traumatized. She's shaking. But she's not hurt. Any fleshy bits on her are from someone else, at least. ]
