Early Evening

hey, i'm sora! so i'm not sure which sleeping world this is, but i'm kind of looking for someone. there's no dream eaters here either, so it's a little weird to figure out where to go. plus, what's with these notebooks?

though, i guess other people would know, but i really have something important to do, so i'd like to get going!

plus, what is this place, i've never seen a world like this? what's going on?

[ For SOME reason, Sora is still writing questions, not particularly waiting for an answer. Some of them range from "how did I manage to get here? and "where's riku?" and then something about being really hungry. Feel free to stop him. ]

oh yeah...i don't think that happened to me. see, the keyblade came to me when riku's heart succumbed to darkness. he came back though!

I'm sorry. He seemed like...he was a good kid.

he is a good kid! everyone has moments where they bend to the darkness in their hearts. it's not something that makes you good or bad. it just makes you who you are.

I mean

it kind of does make you good or bad?

Bad people are bad because they let the darkness in them take over.

i don't agree...not completely anyway. darkness....well, i don't know, it's hard to explain. but i've seen what happened to riku and he used his darkness to overcome it. he knew who he was....it's who you are that makes you, you!

You make it sound a lot simpler than it is. Or maybe more complicated. I don't know.

Hey, can I ask you something? Can you summon your Keyblade okay here?

i haven't really tried just yet. been trying to figure out what's going on, but it's becoming really obvious that isn't not a good situation....

Well, be careful with it. I've been

having trouble. Also sometimes there are these dogs? Maybe it's just me though.

i just summoned it with no problem! but dogs?! did you get to keep one?!

They all ran off.

It's good that you're not having trouble, though. We could use a reliable Keyblade.

man...having a dog would be awesome.

reliable? i'm sure yours is perfectly reliable!

Maybe you could find one. A lot of people here have pets, or animal friends.

I'm not so sure. Not since I came here, anyway...

maybe we just need to practice together! that'll get your spirits up!

Maybe. You think you can find the gardens? They have a lot of empty space.

Terra loiters at the entrance to the gardens, fretting. He's not at all sure he'll be able to summon his Keyblade, and while that's been bad enough, to fail in front of another Keyblade wielder is...making it real, somehow, in a way that failing on his own hasn't. Especially if this Sora (and where did he come from, anyway?) isn't having trouble.

[ Sora finally makes it to the gardens, with no Keyblade summoned. He figured he could put it up for now so he didn't raise any suspicions. He finally sees the other and points, smiling. ]

It's you! That guy's friend!

[Terra turns and -]

Ven?!

[- for a moment hope leaps in his heart. That face--he knows that face! Then his tunnel vision swoops out, takes in the hair, the clothes...and his face falls.]

You're not Ven.

[ Sora looks legitimately empathetic. He had just had a confusion with Ven's heart being in his own thinking that Kairi and Riku were Terra and Aqua. He rubbed his neck now, looking down to the ground. ]

I'm...I'm sorry. I'm trying really hard to help him back at home.

But you know him. [Ven never talked about a Sora...Then again, since Ven left home, did they really talk at all?]

He's in trouble?!

Is it...Xehanort?

[Terra's been all too aware that the last thing he heard of either of his friends was Xehanort's threat.]

[ How to explain this....it wasn't necessarily Sora's strong suit to explain or understand hardly anything of what was going on, but he could feel in his heart that the danger he put Ven in was partially his fault. Though he was slightly unaware of the effect he would have on Ven's heart...]

No...I...I think? I'm not really sure. What I do know is that something bad happened to me and the darkness recently and that I realized how much I effect Ven's heart as well. He's safe, though. I'm making sure that I'm being careful...

[ Sora realized he didn't really go over the first statement...sighing, he rubbed his neck again. ]

I...I don't really know him? I know of him...I feel like if I actually met him face to face, I'd know him!

[ Sora, none of that makes sense. ]

...But Ven's safe?

[No, none of that made sense, but as far as Terra's concerned, it doesn't need to. What's important is that his friend is somewhere Xehanort can't get at him.]

That's a relief...

Yeah! He's safe! [ Sora just grins and places his hands behind his head. ]

So can you summon your keyblade?

[Rather than answer in words, Terra holds out his hand and concentrates...And instead of a giant key, a giant dog appears standing beneath his hand. Looking between the two of them, it whines and turns tail, running away faster than a human could follow.

Terra is disappointed, but not surprised.]

I guess not...

Whoa! [ Sora jumps slightly but is clearly SO EXCITED for the dog. He wants to pet it, but it runs off. There comes a brief pout before Sora moves his own hand out and attempts to summon again. ]

I had a fine time summoning mine earlie---

[ The words came out of his mouth just as the same dog appears, whining and running off. ]
