Early Evening

hey, i'm sora! so i'm not sure which sleeping world this is, but i'm kind of looking for someone. there's no dream eaters here either, so it's a little weird to figure out where to go. plus, what's with these notebooks?

though, i guess other people would know, but i really have something important to do, so i'd like to get going!

plus, what is this place, i've never seen a world like this? what's going on?

[ For SOME reason, Sora is still writing questions, not particularly waiting for an answer. Some of them range from "how did I manage to get here? and "where's riku?" and then something about being really hungry. Feel free to stop him. ]

But you know him. [Ven never talked about a Sora...Then again, since Ven left home, did they really talk at all?]

He's in trouble?!

Is it...Xehanort?

[Terra's been all too aware that the last thing he heard of either of his friends was Xehanort's threat.]

[ How to explain this....it wasn't necessarily Sora's strong suit to explain or understand hardly anything of what was going on, but he could feel in his heart that the danger he put Ven in was partially his fault. Though he was slightly unaware of the effect he would have on Ven's heart...]

No...I...I think? I'm not really sure. What I do know is that something bad happened to me and the darkness recently and that I realized how much I effect Ven's heart as well. He's safe, though. I'm making sure that I'm being careful...

[ Sora realized he didn't really go over the first statement...sighing, he rubbed his neck again. ]

I...I don't really know him? I know of him...I feel like if I actually met him face to face, I'd know him!

[ Sora, none of that makes sense. ]

...But Ven's safe?

[No, none of that made sense, but as far as Terra's concerned, it doesn't need to. What's important is that his friend is somewhere Xehanort can't get at him.]

That's a relief...

Yeah! He's safe! [ Sora just grins and places his hands behind his head. ]

So can you summon your keyblade?

[Rather than answer in words, Terra holds out his hand and concentrates...And instead of a giant key, a giant dog appears standing beneath his hand. Looking between the two of them, it whines and turns tail, running away faster than a human could follow.

Terra is disappointed, but not surprised.]

I guess not...

Whoa! [ Sora jumps slightly but is clearly SO EXCITED for the dog. He wants to pet it, but it runs off. There comes a brief pout before Sora moves his own hand out and attempts to summon again. ]

I had a fine time summoning mine earlie---

[ The words came out of his mouth just as the same dog appears, whining and running off. ]

....Wait a minute!

[Between relief and the look on Sora's face, Terra can't help but laugh, a little helplessly.]

Sorry, I just - I thought it was just me -

[It's like a weight has been taken off his back. This time, when he reaches for the Keyblade, it sinks into his hand like it's never been away.]

[ Sora's attention is immediately on Terra's keyblade. It's so...so big! He seems to be more excited about that then trying to summon his own again, for the moment. ]

Whoa! That's huge! How do you swing it around?!

With my arm?

[What kind of a question is that?]

No! Not that, I mean... how do you...I don't know, it seems like it'd be really heavy!

I guess it is a little heavy, but I'm used to it. It's just...the right shape for me, you know.

I get that, but it'd be so hard to try to swing with that, plus mines a little different... [ Again, Sora tries to summon it and gets yet another dog. He pouts and hangs his head as the dog runs. ]

It's not that hard. I'd let you try but, you know, Keyblades...

[Terra can't resist reaching out to ruffle Sora's hair comfortingly the way he would Ven's.]

You'll get it eventually. I don't know why it doesn't work sometimes.

[ Sora laughs a little bit, pushing Terra off slightly. This was nice. ]

I guess I can't keep one of those dogs though?

I don't think they want to be kept, and you might have a problem keeping them against their will. There are plenty of other creatures around, though.

[Speaking of...a small red beast with wings pokes up out of Terra's hair and squeaks demandingly.]

Oh, right! You haven't met Ignis, have you?

[ If Sora had the physical ability to sparkle, he would do so, right now. He looked like he was beside himself and that he just wanted to touch it. but Terra was SO TALL. ]

Hi Ignis!!

[Ignis continues to squeak.]

Okay, okay. C'mere.

[Terra plucks the dragonling off his head and holds it out to Sora.]

Say hi.

[Ignis squarks.]

[ Sora's eyes sparkle now as he quietly goes "oooh". His excitement was barely contained at the surface as he reached to Terra's hand and touched Ignis' head, carefully. ]

Whoa...

[ Terra, you rendered him speechless. ]

[Ignis squeaks and rubs his head against Sora's finger, flapping his little wings in happiness. His scaled body is small enough to curl comfortably on Terra's palm with room to spare.]

He was a gift, I guess. He hatched here.

[ Sora looked like he wanted to ask questions, but he was too busy smiling at Ignis and petting him to concentrate. Finally, he found his voice again.]

A gift? This is the coolest gift ever!

He's company.

[Something oddly hard to come by, here.

[Ignis sure is soaking up the attention! He preens at Sora's compliment as if he understands it. Maybe he does.]

That's good, though! Especially when you're in a different world! Friends can come in any shape or size! [ Sora moves on to cooing at him now, rubbing him more. ]

That's definitely true.

[Ignis continues eating up the attention.]

I'm sorry your friends aren't here. Or you're not with them.

Huh? Of course one of my friends is here!

[ Sora gave Terra the BIGGEST SMILE. ]

You're here, aren't you?

[Terra grins, abashed.]

I guess I am.

So do you wanna spar, friend?
