[There are strange scribbles on the top of the page, as though the writer is testing out a writing instrument on the paper.

There seems to be a list of objects -- specifically the objects one would find in one of the trunks -- but a few lines stand out.]

Armor --> Full charge.
Buster --> Full charge.

[Following that is an outline of the room, almost too perfect to be made by human hands. The words "No Charger" can be seen in the corner.

Forgive him, X doesn't know the function of this thing yet. For all he knows, this notebook has just had multiple users, and he's the newest of many.]

If you need a particular device to charge up something, you're probably going to be out of luck. [His handwriting is neat, writing to one side out of the way of the drawing] Technology isn't something this place has a lot of.

Who are you?

My name's Akito. The notebook you're writing in is connected to everyone else's notebook. It's kind of like an old-fashioned social network, only with magic instead of technology.

[There's a long line that goes down the rest of the page, thick and heavy. A long pause stretches between the rest of his words.]

With magic? How do you know, Akito?

[Magic? Ridiculous. There were a lot of things that X could buy into with enough prodding. Ghosts. Spirits. Monsters. But magic? No, nonono, there had to be a logical explanation for that.

Maybe it was a technology that couldn't be explained yet, and this Akito person simply didn't know how to express it any other way. Humans did that for centuries -- and still do it, in some places.]

[Akito giggles at that line, and idly sketches random AT parts on it while he waits]

There isn't any technology here, machine-wise at any rate. Not that's from this world initially. There's no other real way I can think of that the notebooks would be connected like they are.

[...what were those devices on that line? Those were interesting designs. Note to self: ask about that when Magic wasn't on the table.

Though it was hard to deny that it was unlikely that they were machines of some kind. Unless they managed to have microscopic ports, but that would be unlikely. He'd run his fingers all over the notebook, and even touched the top and bottom in hopes to find something.

There'd been nothing that he could see.

Still...magic? He'd just rule it under an 'unknown' for now, and leave it at that until further notice.]

It is strange. There might be a better explanation; we just haven't found it yet.

Also, do you know of any good places in this house to get some sun?

[That seems a little suspicious.]

I'm just curious.

Maybe, maybe not. [He's more than willing to believe in magic, given everything that's happened to him]

Now that the snow's melted, you can head outside. The garden has some open areas that shouldn't have shade on them from the trees.

[Well, that was at least a good alternative. He wasn't sure if he felt comfortable with putting his armor outside; he wouldn't know if he could get it back when the day was done.]

In this castle, it's the sixth day, so about ten weeks of normal 24 hours a day time. In this world, since there was the cycle before this one that I was part of, over two years.

[That's...admittedly, a lot to take in.]

Another cycle?

What was this place like then?

It was five distinct houses that were all connected together. The day-night cycle was pretty much the same, along with night's being dangerous compared to day. There wasn't anyone really obviously in charge like the Lord though, or any guards to help with the monsters. It was a lot less safe.

Ahh, I see. There's a few people who were there here too. It doesn't seem to be unusual, at any rate.

[X isn't sure why, but that relieves him. Well, relatively; it's hard to be relieved in this situation, considering the circumstances.]

Admittedly, I don't remember much about it. A few flashes here and there, and one or two specific rooms. I doubt it'll help me here, though.

Probably not. There's a few monsters here that are the same as the house's, and a few people, but the rules seem to be different in many ways. Mostly thanks to the Lord.

I'd say that's probably a good way to get in a lot of trouble really fast, trying that. [Who knew, it might work, but then again the Lord is kind of gross, so]
