[There is no text in this message. All there are are some drawings of rather strange creatures. After some time, a drawing of a completely different creature is scribbled into one corner.

However, anyone in or passing near Dorm 25 will be able to hear a soft argument between Asch and Murtagh (oneformisery) along the lines of "That's not a horse, it's some kind of monster." "Of course it's a horse! Do you think I'm making this up?"]

I've seen them, but I didn't notice the ice. [ He's, uh, really well insulated against anything cold. ] They seemed harmless enough, but nothing is as it appears in this place.

Their breath is unnaturally cold, and they didn't seem to want to approach the fires in the square, though they weren't intimidated by dragon sparks.

[Thorn is probably glaring at him now for that.]

Maybe they'd melt if they did. [ A la snowman style. ]

I doubt it. They were warm to the touch, it was only their breath that was cold.

Then perhaps crowds repel them, or they are only drawn to certain people.

Possible. The preference for cold seems the most likely explanation.

[Though they did seem more attracted to Murtagh - or rather to the fact that he had so many dragons attached to him, from the way they were nosing him.]

With the weather being what it is, it might be that they'll stay as long as the guards do not make a move towards them.

[ The horses aren't the only ones interested in the dragons, but they're certainly the pushiest. ]

They definitely seem intent on staying through the night. Hard to know if they'll still be around in the daylight, though.

We'll find out when morning comes, I suppose. I doubt it, though. The natural fauna of the previous cycle only appeared at night, so these horses may be the same.
