That wasn’t too bad. Not the worse thing to have happened to me. But I feel weird.

Also, I did not get a cool scar for it. In cartoons when something like that happens, the hero comes back with a powerup and a BIG scar.

So I have drawn what should have happened.



[Luce feels too weird to actually color anything, so its a simple black and white drawing.]

But anyways, I will be throwing a party soon for any plush friends you might have. Please RSVP so I can make sure they have a hat.

I did, it was in the throne room with the Portner lady.

I do hope she is able to start doing her thing. The ghosts need to rest.

The Portner lady? I'm not sure I know who you mean.

Oh. Wait. Is she one of the ghosts?

She judges people! So I was like 'ok' because I needed to give her the book, and I still have it.

You should stay away from her, I think. I don't know She doesn't seem able to keep from hurting people.

I went to her anyways.

Its because she is a ghost and kinda stuck in the loop. As I said, I wanted her to have the book I found so she could help the other ghosts.

I am worried for them.

You found a book? About the ghosts?

Be worried for them from farther away, okay? Apparently if you die too much you stop coming back right.

I think I might not follow that rule by nature [Luce is proud he has recently learned how to use that word in that context] of how I am.

And its a book about Graveminder things. Its really cool.

What's a Graveminder?

They take care of dead things, and they have a bunch of rites to do it with. Its really cool and I want to try it out but I was told I shouldn't.

That does sound pretty cool. The dead things around here definitely need someone taking care of them.

They need to get back into their cycle. Its not right for them to be like this.

It's hard to tell what's right for this world. Some worlds, it's normal to have ghosts.

Because the Graveminder book says to put them to rest.

Okay, right now I am in the dorms resting.

I don't remember the code-name thing thought up for me. So I'll just show you my name when you're there!

Terra looks around the dorm hallway, wondering how he can find someone whose name he doesn't know.

"Hello?" he calls. "It's me, Terra." Do they know his name?

Or he could just look for someone with a big book. That might work. He starts looking in the rooms, one at a time.

The calling would be useful if Luce had his hearing aides in, but luckily for Terra, Luce had come out of Dorm 18 to get some extra energy out. He squinted he never seen this man before, but he was obviously a fellow captive here.

Luce waved the man down.

There are kids here? Terra's taken aback for a moment, but after a second thought, that drawing did seem like something a kid might do... He approaches Luce.

"Hey, I'm Terra. Are you the one who drew that picture?"

Now, if Luce were a nicer child, he would inform Terra like he has many other indivduals about how he is lacking in the hearing department, but something inside of Luce told him not to.

In fact, it told him to see what he could make Terra do.

"You're whispering. Are you enchanted? Speak a little louder."

Okay, Terra figured, maybe something hit him with Silence and he didn't notice. That would be about par for the course around here. He reached out to cast Esuna -

and something happened, for sure. He felt cold, and sick, and almost weighed down by something imperceptible. From Luce's perspective, a layer of solid black slipped across his eyes, and his skin turned sallow.

"I don't...think that worked," he said aloud.

Luce started to back off, well, there went his idea. It was obvious on Luce's face he was not happy about that.
